Perfectly Sliced - December 2021

Autumn is officially over, and we’ve got piles of great coverage to show for it

As the autumn slides into winter, many industries are slowing down -- evidently, that’s not the case for us or our clients! The good news isn’t taking a break, and this month’s newsletter brings you all the excitement of November’s launches, funding rounds, and other announcements!

Before I get to that, I want to share that I am very proud that SlicedBrand has been selected to get on the shortlist for the 2021 European Excellence Awards. This award is for our work with our wonderful client Xayn who we helped bring to 275K downloads and over 690 publications. With over 800 applications, the competition was fierce but we made it to the top 5 – what a success! Winners will be announced on Friday, December 10, so keep your eyes on our social media channels.

December is often a time to reflect on the year that passed, and I wanted to take a look back at the PR predictions I shared with Everything PR as 2021 started. One of my predictions was the rise of the “journalist influencer,” which we have definitely seen as platforms like Substack and Discord grow in use by reporters.

I was also honored to be interviewed by Startup.info as well as Thrive Global and others, this year, with whom I shared a peek behind the curtains at what makes SlicedBrand tick and the core values we bring to each project we work on for tech startups. These are near and dear to my heart and will be the cornerstone moving forward into 2022.

To build on that foundation, we have been laying the groundwork with clients who are providing real value to the world and their industries. To that end, our clients have shared insights on a wide variety of topics -- from the democratization of real estate and the future of web design, to ethical technological innovation and the reduction of food waste. Check out some of their thought leadership pieces that engaged with readers around the globe.

Dan Simerman, IOTA’s Head of Financial Relations, discussed on Nasdaq how the future of real estate investing is in tokenization. Tokenization will democratize real estate investment opportunities and reduce the traditional barriers that limit the ability of people in low-income communities to build wealth.

On Entrepreneur, Duda’s CEO and Co-Founder Itai Sadan discussed how low-code and no-code platforms are the future of web design, particularly when it comes to faster scaling and automated structuring for high-ranking SEO.

Clara Herdeanu, Xayn’s Head of Communications, shared how to handle public relations when your product is a secret. Read her thoughts on The Next Web about the trick to crafting a public relations plan that maintains secrecy while also creating brand awareness in preparation for the big reveal.

Finoa Co-Founder and CEO Christopher May shared on Nasdaq some of the trends involving institutional investments in cryptocurrencies, including the reduction of volatility as the industry matures, which will help attract more traditional investors to the space.

Simon Pickersgill, Senior Vice President at Qualitest Group, described on Insurance Thought Leadership the top three ways artificial intelligence can help in boosting customer retention in the insurance industry.

At Thrive Global, WatchOut Group’s Co-Founder Allan Klepfisz discussed several of the contributors to the U.S. labor shortage and why employers should not be surprised by the ongoing hiring crisis as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Via Surgical Co-Founder and CEO Lena Levin explained on KevinMD how doctors can support medtech innovation by providing extensive feedback on the design of a device, how it is handled, and how it performs.

Wasteless Co-Founder and CEO Oded Omer described on Nasdaq how food waste can be marketed as smart discounts on a deadline, a necessity in an industry that operates on razor-thin margins and has a huge waste problem.

Whether they were coming out of stealth mode to reinvent data engines, launching new features to benefit the creator economy, securing $50M in funding, or making “best of” lists for their products, our clients had a lot of great coverage to be thankful for in November. Check out some of the highlights below.

We lit up the crypto space with news of the launch of IOTA’s Shimmer staging network and reward token, sparking stories on Cointelegraph, BTC-ECHO (and again), Yahoo!Finance, Invezz (and again), U.Today (and again), Crypto News Flash (and again), FOCUS Online (and again), CryptoPanic, Coin Rivet, Blockchain24, Investing(ES), CryptoSlate, City A.M., and more.

Speedb emerged from stealth mode and we put the pedal to the metal to score outstanding coverage for its launch and funding announcement on ZDNet, Flipboard, The Jerusalem Post, Newsbreak, Orchestrate All the Things, Finsmes, Help Net Security, Venture Capital Journal, Inside Big Data, The Fast Mode, and more.

Artlist showcased a new feature to support the creator economy, grew its management team, and was awarded stories on Variety, Walla, CTECH, No Film School, Geek Time, Newsshooter, and other outlets.

Finoa’s executive team shared their own assets, digitally, through insights provided in interviews on Authority Magazine, BCG’s Fintech and Digital Banking Podcast, and BeInCrypto.

While Xayn is all about privacy for online searches, there was no hiding the news that Forbes named the company’s Co-Founder and CEO Leif-Nissen Lundbæk on its “30 Under 30” list.

Qualitest acquired several companies this year, and their growth trajectory was highlighted in articles on CTECH (and again), Times of Israel, Tech.eu, Globes (Hebrew and English), Calcalist, Geospatial World, and elsewhere.

Viber’s secure messaging platform was included in “best of” lists by the likes of PCWorld, MSN, ZDNet, Android Headlines, Tom’s Guide, TechSpot, Digital Trends, Inside Digital, Hacker Noon, Which?, Tech News Today, ITechPost, JournalDev, and more.

We’re floating on Cloud 9 with all the buzz we generated for Cloudways, with inclusions in high-profile articles on sites like PCMag, TechRadar, Tom’s Guide, Geektime, WPZOOM, Blogging Wizard, and elsewhere.

Seasons may change but great coverage is forever. We’ll be back in January with more good news from our clients and top insights from their thought leaders. Wishing you a wonderful conclusion to your 2021 and a very happy 2022!
